Bansberia High School

Bansberia High School is the pride of the ancient city of Bansberia, a historic town known for its rich cultural heritage. For the last 133 years, this institution has been playing a significant role in shaping generations of meritorious, responsible and socially conscious students.
The journey of the present-day Bansberia High School has passed through many challenges and milestones. Its history is closely connected with the social, cultural and educational development of Bansberia. Over the years, the school has earned a distinguished place in the hearts of the people of the locality.
The institution was originally known as Garbhari English School. After 1893, it came to be known as Bansberia Public High English School. In 1905, it was renamed Middle English School. With the gradual development of its educational activities, the institution subsequently became known as Bansberia High English School. An important phase in its development began in 1937, and during 1959–60, the institution received recognition under its present name, Bansberia High School.
The establishment and development of the school were supported by the Deb Roy Rajbari, along with the valuable contributions of many distinguished and education-loving people of the locality. The wholehearted support, cooperation and affection of the common people of Bansberia also played an important role in building this institution.
The glorious academic achievements of the students form an important chapter in the history of the school. In the Higher Secondary Examination of 2012, students of Bansberia High School brought exceptional recognition to the institution. Soham Bhattacharya secured the third position at the state level, while Soham Kundu secured the thirteenth position. Souvik Roy Chowdhury Sixtieth also achieved a notable position, further enhancing the reputation of the school.
